IGAS-2015: Novelties and trends in SIKO review

International graphic arts show (IGAS 2015) went from 11 till 16 September in Tokio, Japan. The leading world software developers demonstrated technical innovations as well as set the trends in graphic arts, computer graphics and its usage in printing and design.

We suggest a short exhibition review.

The Kolbus company as the world leading post-press solutions producer has presented on its booth a novelty which was earlier demonstrated on Open Day in the company in September – EMP 513 casing-in machine. The machine is designed for casing-in of flat spine book blocks in hard covers, subsequently pressing and joint-forming of books. To the advantages of EMP 513 belong the wide range of produced books (105х105х6 mm to 285х385х90 / 315х385х30 mm). The machine is equipped with the last generation servo-drives Siemens, the majority of which can be adjusted automatically.

Kolbus has also demonstrated developments in the gift packaging segment. It’s to be recalled that at ChinaPrint and Interpack exhibitions Kolbus unveiled it’s latest releases for first class packaging. The quality of the high class packaging by Kolbus not only matches all existing requirements but also exceed them thanks to stabile and high precision of german equipment. According to the developer’s representatives, the quality of packaging on Asian market grows continuously and that’s why the demand on such equipment in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and other states is very high.

Meccanotecnica as the leading company in equipment for making of sewed books and strategic partner of Kolbus focused on the most required models demonstrating “the wheelhorse” – Aster EVO. Despite the compacts sizes, the machine provide stable operating at 200 cycles/min. The format range of signatures can vary from 75x120 to 320x420 providing up to 4 openings of feeder top and bottom (4 bottom+4 top+1 lap opener).

Exposition of leading Japanese manufacturer of the die cutting machines – Sanwa company included one of the newest machines – Exseli model.

It’s to be recalled that SANWA is one of the oldest Japanese companies working on post-press market. Established in 1947 the company focuses on development and production of fully automatic die cutting machines and has also patented set of key technological novelties which provide unprecedented reliability, precision and facilities of equipment. Thereby the company succeeded to increase the share of its equipment on the Japanese market to 85%.

The novelty from SANWA – the new model EXSELI became at once several upgrades:

      1. Due to the modernization of the feeding mechanism increased was the machine speed up to 9.000 sheets/hour. Thereby the machine demonstrated at IGAS operated on 9.100 sheets/hour

2. Automatic pressure compensation system – APCI. By operating a die cutter during long time goes the heating of the whole construction and the metal expansion which causes the pressure increasing in the die cutting area. Sanwa has solved this problem simply and graceful: placed in the die cutting area the proxy sensor is bounded with a control system which supports a fixed pressure value. It helped to reach a substantially smaller wearing of the machine, stamp and die cutting plate as well as provide stable quality on the big runs.

Besides that the machine is independent from the machine room climate.

3. Adjusting device for lower table – APC2. If necessary is using of the small format stamp for adjustment duration reducing, used will be a special option of changing horizontal position of the lower table. It allows the working without compensating knifes and to decrease the adjustment duration by times. In another words by unequal placing of die cutting tools on the stamp the operator must only type in the machine the parameters without ungluing the die cutting elements. That’s why the durability of the stamp increases by times.

4. Automatic stamp changing system. Into special device pre-installed must be 3 chase frames with die cutting stamps. The stamp changing could be done by pressing only one button. Under exhibition conditions the changing between two jobs has taken only 3 minutes. It must be noted that this system could be very useful for production with often repeated jobs.

 5. Automation. The machine can be installed into robotized line, incl. automatic delivery from warehouse/ paper feeding on special pallet and delivery of products.

Besides of this machine demonstrated was the upgraded pile rotating device with the dust removal option. With this device significantly reduce printing costs for the production of food packaging compelled to carry out this operation earlier in a separate room equipped with a fume hood.

According to our Head of Key Account Management Vladimir Orlov “On today's market, characterized by increasing the number of orders and the intensity of the operator’s work, the model SANWA EXSELI is particularly interesting because it allows you to automate the process and reduce the loss of time for unproductive jobs. What was particularly noticeable at the exhibition this year – many customers from the middle and south-east Asia with a focus on the hi-end machines segment, required a minimum service at a consistently high product quality. SANWA is in this segment one of the most significant companies. This is partly due to the quality of equipment and production standards, because SANWA is to 100% a Japanese company. It’s enough to mention that all installed machines in Russia in the early 2000s worked smoothly, even in the absence of an authorized dealer before agreement of SANWA with SIKO company in 2012”

SIKO group of companies is an exclusive representative of Kolbus, Meccanotecnica and SANWA in CIS.
